Arsene Wenger has confirmed that he will offer Hector Bellerin a new contract.
The 21 year old right back has been attracting interests from a number of clubs including Manchester City and Barcelona. The La Masia product signed from Barcelona in 2011 and gradually developed in Arsenal subsequently going on to be an essential part of Wenger’s game plan.
Wenger is surprised by the speculation linking him to the Spanish Champions,” Yes, of course [I want to keep him]. That’s why I’m surprised by the speculation,” said Wenger.”
The Spaniard signed a new contract last year and still has three year left on his current deal. Wenger said, “”Look, he has nearly three years to go and we always try get the players to the level where we think they deserve to be. So we try to extend, certainly, his contract. We will try to extend his contract as well, but for me, his long-term future is here.”
