Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold wants to stay at Anfield for a long time and be a one-club man for his boyhood club. It has been a rapid rise for the young Scouser who has seen his dreams turn into reality over the past couple of years as he managed to break into Jurgen Klopp’s first team before scoring his first goal for the club against Hoffenheim in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers last season.
The 20-year-old has now become an integral member of Gareth Southgate’s England squad and was part of the Three Lions team that managed to secure a fourth-placed finish in the 2018 FIFA World Cup earlier this year. Alexander-Arnold scored his first goal for England against the United States last week which has capped off his remarkable rise for both club and country.
When asked about whether he sees himself staying at Anfield for his entire career, the English wonderkid said, “Definitely,”
“To play for Liverpool is the dream, the aim, and I can’t see it changing, to be fair. As long as possible I want to have that relationship with Liverpool, to be a Liverpool player.
“To say I have done that for the whole of my career is something I have dreamed of being able to say.”
What Does Alexander-Arnold Add To Klopp’s Team?
Alexander-Arnold has been a wonderful outlet for the Reds down the right flank and has also proven that he can defend well in his own half even when he is up against some of the best attacking talents in world football. His fearlessness and desire to improve on the pitch has helped him keep his place in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team ahead of Nathaniel Clyne, who has been plagued with injuries over the past year.
Why The Reds Should Never Let Him Leave?
The England international has made 14 appearances for the Merseyside club this season and has two assists to his name across all competitions. He has all the attributes required to be a success at Liverpool and win some major silverware in the coming years.
At 20, Alexander-Arnold is still quite young and has his entire career ahead of him. He is ready to commit his whole career to his boyhood club, so it is only fair that the Merseyside giants never lets him leave as players like him are hard to find these days. Yes, we know we are being unrealistic, but one can hope!
