Chelsea will clash heads with Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening looking to stretch their unbeaten run in the Premier League and keep the pressure on both Manchester City and Liverpool at the top of the league table.
However, they will face off against a Spurs side who are slowly returning to their best after getting a string of positive results under their belt before the international break. Maurizio Sarri is expected to set-up in a 4-3-3 formation and might name Ross Barkley in his starting XI for this highly anticipated London derby.
4-3-3 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Tottenham Hotspur
Defence
Kepa Arrizabalaga will line up in goal for the Blues once again this weekend as he looks to continue his excellent form in Chelsea colours. The Spanish shot-stopper has kept three clean sheets in this past four starts in the Premier League so we can expect him to play a vital role if Sarri’s men are to stop Spurs from scoring on Saturday.
The dynamic duo of David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger are expected to resume their defensive duties at the centre of Chelsea’s backline following their impressive form so far this season.
Cesar Azpilicueta would operate as the right-back while Marcos Alonso looks to link up with Hazard on the other side. The Chelsea defence will come up against one of the best forwards in the league in Harry Kane, so it could be a daunting task for them to cope with the threat of the English goal-getter.
Midfield
Sarri might choose to go for the midfield trio of Ross Barkley, Jorginho and N’Golo Kante who are all fit to start against Spurs this weekend. The Chelsea boss has often used either Barkley or Mateo Kovacic in a box to box midfield role in recent weeks. The English talent should get the nod on Saturday as he has more experience in English football and would know exactly how to approach a game of this magnitude.
Attack
Eden Hazard has been plagued with injuries recently and has not looked his usual self over the past few weeks. The Belgian needs to step up and make the difference against Tottenham while he gets support from Alvaro Morata through the middle and Willian from the right flank.
Pedro should also be available for selection but might start on the bench so that he can make an impact in the second half if required.
