Rangers currently sit third on the table with a game in hand over Hearts and are two points off the top of the table. The busy period of the season is soon going to commence, and the Bears would start by taking on Livingston at Ibrox. Gerrard’s men are likely to go in as favourites for this clash and nothing less than three points would satisfy the fans and the manager.
However, Livingston can spring up a surprise as they defeated the Gers earlier. Although, after a thumping win against Motherwell the last time around, Gerrard should be confident of a good performance from his team.
Team News
Borna Barisic, Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy are all out due to injuries. Ryan Jack is also a doubt after he didn’t feature for his national side in the international break. Daniel Candeias should be eligible for selection after the one-match ban. Ryan Kent is also going to be unavailable.
Rangers Predicted Lineup Vs Livingston
Formation (4-3-3)
Defence
Allan McGregor has been one of the consistent performers this season, and he should start in goal. Connor Goldson should be back in the starting eleven after he missed out the last game due to an injury. He is likely to be partnered by Joe Worrall, but it can go the other way with Nikola Katic as well. Down the right, James Tavernier is a nailed on starter. Defensively the right back is susceptible, but he is a constant threat when moving forward. Andy Halliday has been doing a better job than Jon Flanagan, and we expect the former to start in the left-back role.
Midfield
With Ryan Jack doubtful, Lassana Coulibaly should be back in the first eleven to start after he was dropped in the last game. The Angers loanee needs to find his form soon. Further, in midfield, the likely pairing of Ovie Ejaria and Scott Arfield should start.
Attack
Gerrard confirmed that Ryan Kent is still a couple of weeks away from being back to full fitness and so we might see young Glenn Middleton down the left. Eros Grezda is also capable of playing in that role, and after a brace before the international break, he might be feeling confident. But we believe he might have to be content with a substitute appearance this weekend.
Daniel Candeias should be back after the controversial one-match suspension. He should start from the right. Alfredo Morelos has been in fine form, and the Colombian would once again lead the line for the Bears.
