According to a recent report by the Sun, Chelsea are eager to secure the services of Nabil Fekir from Olympique Lyonnais, so much so that Maurizio Sarri personally picked up the phone in an effort to lure the French midfielder to West London. It has also been claimed that a whole host of clubs are chasing after Fekir’s signature so the Pensioners are not resting on their laurels and are preparing a mega bid worth in the region of £50m to seal a move for the French international.
Chelsea’s Lack Of Creativity In Midfield
The Blues of London have made an unbeaten start to their league campaign. However, they have had their fair share of problems in front of goal with both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud struggling to find consistency in terms of goals.
The likes of Eden Hazard, Pedro and Willian have been Chelsea’s biggest weapons going forward, but their midfield has lacked the cutting edge with only Jorginho being their sole creative force, who can pick out a final pass.
The addition of Fekir will undoubtedly bolster Sarri’s midfield options at Stamford Bridge. The French talent will offer a lot more in the opposition half than what NGolo Kante, Ross Barkley and Mateo Kovacic have been able to create for their front players.

Fekir would be a fantastic signing for Chelsea as he will add a lot of quality to Sarri’s midfield. However, he is still untested in the Premier League which could mean that it might take some time for him to settle in England.
