According to recent reports, Tottenham Hotspur are among a whole host of clubs looking to secure the services of Sebastien Haller from Eintracht Frankfurt. It is understood that Spurs are in a three-way battle with Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund in pursuit of the Bundesliga striker’s signature.
The French centre-forward has already put in some outstanding displays for the German club this season which has not gone unnoticed by other clubs. His incredible contributions on the pitch have helped Frankfurt climb up to the 5th place in the Bundesliga standings.
The 24-year-old has featured in 15 matches for Eintracht this term, scoring eight goals while creating seven assists across all competitions. Haller has also represented his nation at every youth level from Under-16 onwards. However, he is yet to earn an international cap for the French national team, but he could stake his claim soon if he can maintain his current form in the coming months.
What Will The French Striker Add To Pochettino’s Team?
Haller is not that quick, but he is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. However, it is his finishing ability which has caught the eye as the French forward is a fox inside the opposition box and can be quite lethal in front of goal. He is an expert penalty taker and is also a threat in the air. The 24-year-old has a good leap in him and can score goals with his head.
Should Spurs Go For Him?
Spurs could use a quality striker who is worthy of competing with Harry Kane for a place in Mauricio Pochettino’s first-team, and Haller fits the bill perfectly. Much like Kane, the Frenchman can also score goals consistently and could be a threat off the bench when he is not starting. Hence, Pochettino should do everything in his power to lure him to North London in the near future.
Haller is a natural finisher and forwards like him are a rare breed these days which makes this potential move a no-brainer for Tottenham.
