According to a recent report by the Chronicle Live, Newcastle United are preparing to send their Danish forward, Elias Sorensen out on loan when the transfer window reopens in January. It is understood that the Magpies are managing the youngster delicately and are not willing to rush his development. The same report also adds that the Newcastle wonderkid could go out on loan to either the League One or League Two so that he gets a lot of game time on the pitch.
Who Is Elias Sorensen?
The 19-year-old grew up playing football in his homeland before playing for the HB Jugend Under-19 team. At an early age, he managed to catch the eyes of Newcastle chiefs who decided to bring him to England in the summer of 2016.
Sorensen’s Recent Form Has Been Remarkable
The Danish centre-forward has started this campaign on fire for the Magpies Under-23 side after scoring ten goals in 10 matches across all competitions. He found the back of the net twice in a 4-1 victory over Manchester United last week. Sorensen has also been recently nominated for the Premier League 2 player of the month award which shows how well he has done over the past few weeks.
What Are The Danish Striker’s Strengths And Weaknesses?
The Danish starlet is incredibly quick and had developed a habit of making some well-timed runs behind the opposition defence. He is also a very productive scorer in the final third as evidenced by his record this season. However, Sorensen lacks the physical attributes required to feature in Rafael Benitez’s starting XI just yet.
He needs to work hard in the gym if he wants to develop himself physically to stand the test of Premier League football. The future is promising for the Newcastle youngster as long as he can keep his head down and continue improving his talents on the pitch.
Is It The Right Move To Loan Him Out?
A loan move is precisely what the doctor ordered for Sorensen as he will benefit from playing some regular competitive football at the lower tier of England. If the Danish striker managed to impress at that level, then Benitez will have a real dilemma in his hands on whether to incorporate him in his Newcastle first-team in the coming years.
