It was a goal fest at the Molineux as Tottenham Hotspur went onto win their contest against Wolves by 3-2. Lucas Moura, Erik Lamela and Harry Kane were the scorers for Spurs while Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez led the fightback for the Wolves with one goal apiece. However, it was not enough for them to get over the line against the North London club as Mauricio Pochettino’s men took all three points from their matchup at Wembley.
Erik Lamela opened the scoring for Spurs in the 27th minute while Lucas Moura added to the scoreline in the 30th minute. The second half saw a brave fightback from the visitors as they went onto pull one back from the spot via Ruben Neves. However, it was Harry Kane to settle the record straight as he scored in the 61st minute to seal the match for his side. Raul Jimenez scored in the 77th minute from the spot, but it was too little too late for Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.
Here is how the Tottenham players were rated from their hard-fought win against Wolves.
Hugo Lloris: 6
Had nothing much to do as both the spot kicks were very well taken. Parried away a shot in the final moments.
Kieran Trippier: 5
Was not a very good night for the right back other than his cross to pick out Lucas Moura in front of the goal.
Toby Alderweireld: 6
Was a little shaky in the first half but did well in the second. Dealt with the long balls well with his headed clearances.
Juan Foyth: 4
An outing to forget for the young Argentine as he gave away both the penalties on the night.
Ben Davies: 6
Pretty solid defensively. Not so much going forward.
Moussa Sissoko: 6
Had to fall back from his original position after Mousa Dembele left the pitch. Did well to keep the ball in his control and made good challenges.
Mousa Dembele: NA
Unfortunate to be taken off very early in the match after suffering a bad injury.
Harry Winks: 6
Did well to hold the midfield together and made some good passes into the right areas.
Erik Lamela: 7
Opened the scoring for his side with a sweet finish. Had a decent game.
Lucas Moura: 6
Doubled the lead from Trippier’s inch-perfect cross but failed to have much of an impact on the game.
Harry Kane: 8
Stepped up with the match winner for his side when they needed him the most. Was sharp and agile throughout the match.
Substitutes
Heung Min Son: 6
Had to come on early given Dembele’s departure and did an excellent job with his crosses and passes. Created the first goal.
Christian Eriksen: 5
Was not his night anyways.
Davinson Sanchez: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
