According to a recent report by Marca, Real Madrid are lining up a move to secure the signature of Brahim Diaz from Manchester City. It is understood that the Galacticos are monitoring the youngster’s situation at the Etihad Stadium with his current deal set to run out at the end of this season.
The Rapid Emergence Of Brahim Diaz
The Spanish prospect has already put in some majestic displays for the Citizens during this campaign. He scored a brace against Fulham in the Carabao Cup, and his match-winning contributions did not go unnoticed by other clubs.
The City starlet grew up in the city of Malaga before playing for the youth teams of his boyhood club. He graduated for the Malaga academy before making a switch to England to play for the blue half of Manchester.
Diaz has featured in 3 matches for Pep Guardiola’s team this season and has two goals to his name so far. He could be on the verge of breaking into the City first-team but only if he can consistently perform well on the pitch. The likes of Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, David Silva, Riyad Mahrez, Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva are all ahead of him in the City pecking order which will make it a tough task, to say the least.
What Does Diaz Add To Guardiola’s Team?
The Spanish wonderkid is very quick and has wonderful ball control which helps him dribble past his opponents in the attacking third of the pitch. Diaz is technically gifted and has all the attributes in his locker to have a promising future in European football.
Should Man City Part Ways With Him?
Diaz’s potential departure will be a big blow for City as he could be the long-term successor of David Silva at the Etihad Stadium. Guardiola should do everything in his power to retain his services for the long-term as he can play a significant part for the Citizens in the coming years.
Even a move to Real Madrid won’t come with a guarantee of regular first-team opportunities, and so the Spanish playmaker should stay put for now and try to keep improving on the field.
