According to a recent report by the French newspaper outlet Le Parisien, Paris Saint-Germain are plotting a move to bring Liverpool midfielder Fabinho back to French football on a loan deal when the transfer window reopens in January. When asked about a potential transfer for the Reds talent during the winter transfer period, sources close to the French club stated, “We will be active”.
It has also been claimed by the same report that the biggest stumbling block for PSG will be to overcome their unhealthy relationship with the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.
Jurgen Klopp’s team have begun this campaign in terrific form after winning 8 and drawing 2 of their ten league matches so far. Despite suffering a defeat versus Napoli, the Merseyside giants also find themselves in a commanding position to qualify from their UEFA Champions League group which goes on to show that the Liverpool boss has the luxury of having a strong squad to choose from across all competitions.
Early Signs Are Promising
The likes of Xherdan Shaqiri, Adam Lallana and Fabinho have all got their fair share of game time in recent weeks. The Brazilian midfielder has especially caught the eye with his performances of late. He put on a man of the match display against Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League last month which showed glimpses of why the Reds decided to bring him to the Premier League last summer.
What Does Fabinho Add To Klopp’s Team?
The 25-year-old is a strong presence in midfield who knows how to make well-timed tackles and intercept possession for his side. The Brazilian sensation is not afraid to make his presence felt and is a tireless worker at the middle of the pitch. Even though he is not as good on the ball as some of his other teammates, Fabinho offers his unique set of defensive skill sets which will be an integral asset for Klopp as he looks to motivate his players to mount a serious title challenge this season.
A Story To Fill The Backpages?
It is true that the Brazilian has made a slow start to life in Merseyside, but that doesn’t mean that he won’t play a big part for the Reds in the coming months. It is highly likely that a long and hard campaign awaits Liverpool this term, so Klopp would need to call upon the services of every one of his players if the Reds are to compete on all fronts.
For now, this story looks like an attempt to sell papers, and so the Liverpool fans shouldn’t be too worried about Fabinho’s immediate future at Anfield.
