Manchester City made their dominance prevail in the EFL Cup as they went onto win their round of 16 clash against Fulham at the Etihad Stadium. It was a night to rejoice for the young midfielder Brahim Diaz as he scored twice to get his side over the line.
Now the defending champions will once again look to make their presence felt in the Premier League when they take on Southampton in their next match at home. The Citizens had a tough outing in their last game in the league against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley, but they were eventually able to hold onto the lead that Riyad Mahrez had given them in the 6th minute of the match. The match against the Saints will also be of paramount importance as the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea are breathing on their shoulders on the league leaderboard.
Team News
Kevin De Bruyne, who was in brilliant form in the match against Fulham, picked up a knee injury in the process. However, he might be fit in time to play in the next match. Ilkay Gundogan is on his way to recovery and will be assessed before the Southampton fixture.

Ederson will stand in the goal for the Cityzens. He has had a good season so far with the gloves and will look to continue keeping clean sheets as he did in the last two outings.

Attack
Raheem Sterling will start on the left as the wide attacker to accompany Sergio Aguero, who will lead the line for the City. Bernardo Silva will come in from the right to complete the three men attack.
