According to a recent report by Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool are lining up a move to secure the signature of Barcelona speedster Ousmane Dembele. It is understood that the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp had been keen on bringing the French youngster to Merseyside even before his move to the Nou Camp and could now reignite his interest on the player.
Dembele Is Not A Regular Starter At The Nou Camp
Dembele has been a sporadic option for the Catalans this season with Rafinha currently being preferred ahead of him to fill in for the injured Lionel Messi in Ernesto Valverde’s starting XI. The Frenchman has not been able to live up to the hype surrounding his arrival at the Nou Camp in the summer of 2017. Having said that, his goal-scoring record for Barca is not bad by any means which highlights that he still has a promising career in football.
The 21-year-old has made 13 appearances for the Blaugrana this season, scoring five goals while grabbing two assists in all competitions. He has also earned 20 international caps for the French national side and has got two goals to his name so far.
What Will The Frenchman Add To Klopp’s Team?
Dembele is blessed with blistering pace and is an excellent dribbler with the ball at his feet. He can beat any defender on 1v1 situations which makes him a handy asset in the opposition half. The French talent has a bright future ahead of him in European football. As long as he can keep his head down and continue improving on the pitch, there is no doubt that Dembele can become a world-class talent in the coming years.
Will Dembele Be A Good Fit For Liverpool?
He will be a perfect fit for Jurgen Klopp’s style of play at Anfield as he will add even more pace and quality to the Liverpool attack. However, it won’t be easy for him to secure a regular starting berth at Merseyside as the likes of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah are guaranteed starters for the Reds.
Klopp should do everything in his power to lure the Frenchman to the Premier League as he could potentially give the Merseyside giants an edge in the race for the league title.
