Tottenham Hotspur will face off against Wolves at the Molineaux Stadium on Saturday night hoping to bounce back from their league defeat at the hands of Manchester City. Spurs managed to claim a victory versus West Ham United in the League Cup on Wednesday night, but their focus would now be firmly on Wolves who have made a solid start to life in the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo’s tutelage.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to opt for a fluid 4-3-3 formation and make a whole host of changes for this weekend’s clash.
4-3-3 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup To Face Wolves
Defence
Hugo Lloris will line up as the keeper for Spurs despite making a string of high-profile errors in recent weeks. The defensive duo of Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez is set to resume their partnership at the centre of Pochettino’s backline. Jan Vertonghen is still out with an injury and can be ruled out of this clash, and so Pochettino is unlikely to play with a back three against Wolves.
Kieran Trippier will feature as the right-back while Ben Davies would look to put in a hardworking shift on the left side of the Tottenham defence. Danny Rose is still out of action which should keep Davies in Pochettino’s first-team for the time being.
The North London club has shipped in two goals in their last two outings against Manchester City and West Ham United respectively. The Spurs defenders will need to keep things stable at the back if they want to cope with the threat of their West Midlands opponents on Saturday night.
Midfield
The midfield duo of Eric Dier and Harry Winks might line up at the centre of the park after they put in some impressive displays for Tottenham in recent weeks. Mousa Dembele might be handed a rest but should start on the Spurs bench after his heavy involvement against Manchester City earlier this week.
The talented trio of Heung-min Son, Christian Eriksen, and Lucas Moura could be unleashed in the Wolves half as they look to cause problems while linking up with Harry Kane in the final third. Son scored a brace of goals at West Ham United in midweek, and so he should be full of confidence going into this league clash.
Both Erik Lamela and Dele Alli could come off the bench to feature in this game if required.
Attack
Harry Kane will play as the lone striker up top after failing to find the back of the net against the Citizens on Monday night. The English centre-forward has struggled to find his goal-scoring touch at times this season, and thus we can expect him to be in for another tough night out against Nuno Espirito Santo’s defenders, who have conceded just nine goals in 10 league matches.
