According to a recent report by Birmingham Mail, Wolves are lining up an offer to secure the services of Liverpool outcast Divock Origi. However, it is also understood that they will face stiff competition from Juventus in pursuit of the Belgian talent’s signature. Some sources have recently claimed that the Reds are looking for a fee in the region of £20m if they are to be persuaded to part ways with their prized asset.
Origi’s Recent Nightmare At Merseyside
The 23-year-old centre-forward has only been named once in Jurgen Klopp’s match-day squads so far. However, he was an unused substitute during that game with his only appearance this season coming in a Premier League 2 game for the club’s Under-23 side. He has fallen behind the Anfield pecking order to the likes of Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge and Dominic Solanke which has only compounded his misery in recent times.
His desire to stay and fight for his place in Klopp’s starting XI is admirable, but at the same time, it has been a foolish decision which has derailed his football career. However, despite so much promise, the Belgian cannot boast a prolific goal-scoring record as evidenced by his recent loan spell with VfL Wolfsburg last season where had he scored just seven goals while providing three assists in 36 matches across all competitions.
