Rangers’ incredible unbeaten European run has manifested the influence of Steven Gerrard since being appointed as their new boss. However, the Teddy Bears have been a bit inconsistent in the Premiership and need to close the gap at the top with a few successive victories. They ended Hearts’ unbeaten status before the break and were upbeat about clinching all three points on the road against Hamilton Academical. Rangers had won all eight of their Premiership visits to SuperSeal Stadium and grabbed yet another following a late drama which saw the game finish 4-1 in favour of the visitors.
Below are the Rangers players rated in their dramatic win against Hamilton Academical.
Allan McGregor: 6.5
Made a couple of routine stops but could have done little to deny Steven Boyd’s strike that earned the Accies a late equaliser for a few minutes.
James Tavernier: 8
The skipper had his impact with overlapping runs and crosses. He exhibited his excellence from the spot and kept his nerve while scoring twice in quick succession to ensure three massive points.
Connor Goldson: 6.5
A steady start to the game but was kept on his toes by the hosts for the majority of the second half. Made some crucial clearances, blocks and tackles but struggled against long balls at times.
Nikola Katic: 6
Had a nervy start to the game as he gave away possession and hurried his clearances on a few occasions. Was taken off late in the game to be replaced by Joe Worrall seconds before Boyd’s strike.
Andy Halliday: 5.5
Was handed a start in a makeshift left-back role but looked unsettled throughout and was troubled from the flank by Aaron McGowan and Mickel Miller. Mostly confined his game to defensive duties and rarely made forward runs.
Jordan Rossiter: 6
Started the game in the centre of the pitch. Looked impressive with his passing and mobility but switched off after grabbing the lead. Should have done better to stop the run in Accies equaliser and was replaced by Eros Grezda a couple of minutes later.
Lassana Coulibaly: 6.5
Coulibaly tried to build up moves from the deep and made runs forward to help the attacking third. Looked lethargic after the break which allowed the hosts to fight back in closing minutes.
Ovie Ejaria: 7
Impressed with his technicality, skills and shooting attributes. Was denied by Gary Woods but looked purposeful whenever he had the ball at his feet.
Daniel Candeias: 7.5
Worked hard, created a few chances down the right flank. Complemented Tavernier with smart one-twos and played his part in Rangers’ fourth of the afternoon.
Ryan Kent: 8
Scored his 3rd in 5 games as he broke the deadlock with a smart finish after picking up Morelos’ outrageous pass. Had to carry the ball forward from the deep due to Halliday’s lack of involvement high up the pitch. Was replaced by Ross McCrorie late in the game.
Alfredo Morelos: 9
Was excellent all throughout as he proved to be instrumental in Rangers’ dramatic win. His spectacular pass found Kent for the opener, earned a couple of spot-kicks that were converted by Tavernier and found the net in closing seconds to mark his name on the scoresheet.
Substitutes

Rangers conceded from distance seconds after he replaced Katic in central defence. It was unfortunate as the young Englishman could have done little to deny the equaliser.
Eros Grezda: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
Ross McCrorie: NA
Played too little to warrant a rating.
