Tottenham Hotspur are yet to hit the top gear, but they have enjoyed a good start to the season as they currently sit just two points off the table toppers. Their performance has been underwhelming but Pochettino’s men are coming on the back of three consecutive wins in the league, and they would travel to London Stadium to take on West Ham United next.
The Hammers are also finding their groove, and they have shown good promise in the last four games. However, Pellegrini would be disappointed to lose against Brighton before the international break. They managed to get four points against Chelsea and Manchester United at home, and the Chilean manager would be looking for another good performance against a top side.
Team news
Jan Vertonghen is out until December. Victor Wanyama injured himself during the international break, and his injury would be assessed with time. Danny Rose pulled his name out of the England squad because of a groin issue. Christian Eriksen still seems to be struggling. Dele Alli is also likely to miss out.
Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup Vs West Ham United
Formation (4-2-3-1)
Defence
Hugo Lloris has been inconsistent this season and Pochettino would want his captain to be at his best. Lloris should start in goal. The Frenchman would be protected by the defensive pair of Toby Alderweireld and Davinson Sanchez. Out on the right, Kieran Trippier has been a revelation, and his other fullback partner would be Ben Davies as Rose is not expected to be fit in time for this game.
Midfield
The team has lacked creativity in the absence of Eriksen and Alli, but the men who would start might want to change that in this game. Eric Dier is likely to play in an anchor role in the middle of the park and he would be partnered by fellow countryman Harry Winks who has impressed in this injury crisis.
The attacking outlet would be provided by the likes of Son Heung-Min, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura. Moura and Lamela are likely to interchange positions now and then and the Brazilian is often left as the furthest man up front so that Spurs can hit with pace on the counter. Most of the creative onus would be on these three in the absence of Alli and Eriksen.
Attack
Harry Kane put in a terrific performance against Spain during the international break, and he showed that he is not just a goal scorer and can set up goals as well. The World Cup golden boot winner blanked against Cardiff City last time around and would be hoping to get back to goal scoring ways this week against the Hammers.
