Everton have made a strong start to this season and have managed to win back to back matches in the Premier League against Fulham and Leicester City respectively. However, Marco Silva’s side have had their fair share of problems so far with the likes of Cenk Tosun, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Oumar Niasse failing to score goals on a consistent basis up top.
Luckily for the Toffees, their midfielders are bang in form as the trio of Gylfi Sigurdsson, Richarlison and Theo Walcott have all chipped in with some goals over the past few weeks. The Merseyside club still needs to address their striking problems soon or else risk losing out on a solid finish in the Premier League this season.
Here are three players that the Blues of Merseyside should look to acquire during the January transfer window.
Krzysztof Piatek
The Polish striker is in the form of his life and has scored loads of goals for Genoa this season. Piatek has registered a whopping 13 goals in 8 matches for the Serie A side across all competitions which includes his four goals in the Coppa Italia against Lecce. He could be the ideal man to lead the lines for the Toffees if given a chance to test himself in the Premier League.
Kevin Volland
The German striker has lit up the Bundesliga with some dazzling displays for Bayer 04 Leverkusen this season. He could be the perfect fit for Marco Silva’s brand of football at Goodison Park as he is a proper old-fashioned centre-forward who can hold the ball up and get others into play.
Everton have lacked such a player since Romelu Lukaku’s departure to Manchester United last year so the addition of a player like Volland would surely be a welcome one for the Merseyside outfit.
Wissam Ben Yedder
The French talent is a hard-working forward who knows how to find the back of the net on a weekly basis as evidenced by his magnificent record for Sevilla this season. The 28-year-old has scored nine goals while creating three assists in 14 matches for the La Liga side so far. He is precisely the type of player who can thrive under Marco Silva’s stewardship and has the technical ability to form a good partnership with the likes of Richarlison and Gylfi Sigurdsson in the opposition half.
