A report by the Mirror has recently claimed that Liverpool are looking to bring Borussia Dortmund starlet Jadon Sancho back to the Premier League and are among many English clubs who are interested in securing his signature. It is understood that Dortmund are demanding a fee around £100m for their talented Englishman as they are aware of all the interest surrounding Sancho’s future and are expecting a potential bidding war between all the interested parties next summer.
The Rise Of Jadon Sancho
The London born prospect started his football career at Watford but made a switch to Manchester City in 2015. He graduated from the City Academy and featured for their Under-18 team before being shipped out to Borussia Dortmund last year.
Since his move to Germany, Sancho has been highly impressive and has also put in ten match-winning performances during the course of this season so far. The English winger has made ten appearances for Dortmund, scoring one goal while creating nine assists across all competitions.
What Will The English Prospect Add To The Liverpool Side?
Sancho has blistering pace and can dribble with the ball quite effectively to beat defenders in 1v1 situations. He has a marvelous knack for finding space and deliver some telling balls for his teammates inside the opposition box which makes him an integral member of the current Dortmund team. The fact that Sancho has managed to notch up a whopping nine assists in 10 matches for the German giants this season is nothing short of remarkable. At the mere age of 18, he still has a long time to develop himself into a world-class winger in Europe.
There is no doubt that Liverpool can benefit from having someone of Sancho’s ability in the long-run. Moreover, Jurgen Klopp could be the ideal manager to get the best out of the English midfielder. The German head coach has proven in the past that he can develop young players into future stars as evidenced by the rapid emergence of Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson over the past year.
Will Sancho Be A Worthy Addition For Klopp’s Team?
The 18-year-old would undoubtedly bolster the Reds attack and add more competition for places in Klopp’s squad as they look to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title. Sancho will be a shrewd signing for Liverpool if they can pull off the coup soon.
