Arsenal have made a breath-taking come back after initially starting their season with two losses in the Premier League. The Gunners have won their last nine matches in a row across all competitions and looks set to earn a top 4 spot at the end of this campaign. However, it won’t be comfortable with their rivals, Tottenham Hotspur also seeking to topple them to secure UEFA Champions League football for next season.
The North London outfit needs to strengthen their squad in January if they want to have an edge in the top 4 race so Unai Emery should consider signing the following three players to ease his chances of a successful season at the Emirates Stadium.
Matthijs de Ligt
The AFC Ajax prodigy has put in some excellent displays during the course of this season. At the mere age of 19, the Dutch centre-back has been a solid presence at the back which indicates that he can be a future star at Arsenal if given the opportunity to showcase his talents in the Premier League.
It is no secret that the Gunners need to improve their defensive record this season so the addition of the Dutch prospect in the Arsenal backline might be a shrewd move by Emery in the long-run.
Ciro Immobile
The Italian striker has been a regular goal-scorer for Lazio over the past few years. He has a great knack of finding the back of the net on a consistent basis and would add even more firepower to the Gunners frontline if Emery can lure him to the Emirates Stadium in January. Immobile has registered six goals in 10 matches for the Serie A outfit this season and is only getting better with age.
Saul Niguez
The Atletico Madrid midfield general would be a perfect fit for Emery’s style of play at North London. He is a class act at the middle of the park and has enjoyed a fantastic start to this campaign so far, after putting in a match-winning performance for the La Liga heavyweights in the UEFA Super Cup final triumph over Real Madrid.
At 23, Saul is yet to hit his peak which is why the Gunners should sign him as they could benefit from his presence in midfield over the next few years.
