Liverpool will take on Napoli at the Stadio San Paolo on Wednesday night looking to gain another positive result in the UEFA Champions League this year. The Reds have made an outstanding start to this campaign and are in pole position to secure progression from their group after narrowly beating Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield on the opening night.
Jurgen Klopp will expect his team to put on a tireless performance at Naples in midweek so that they can come away with all three points from Italy. The Merseyside giants could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, and Klopp might opt to start with both Joel Matip and Naby Keita on Wednesday night.
4-3-3 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face Napoli
Defence
Alisson Becker would line up in goal for the Reds once again following his heroics at the weekend against Chelsea. The Brazilian made some excellent saves to keep Liverpool in the game which ultimately helped them earn a point from the contest at Stamford Bridge. Simon Mignolet would have to settle for a spot on the bench after conceding two goals in the Carabao Cup last week.
Joe Gomez could feature alongside Joel Matip at the heart of the Liverpool defence as Klopp looks to rotate his team and give Virgil Van Dijk some rest ahead of a season-defining match against Manchester City at Anfield next weekend. However, both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson are expected to resume their responsibilities as the full-backs on either side of the Reds centre-back pairing.
Dejan Lovren might be available on the bench and could come on during the European game if needed.
Midfield
James Milner and Jordan Henderson will start at the middle of the park and could be joined by Naby Keita. He might start in place of Georginio Wijnaldum after the Dutch midfielder featured for the full 90 minutes versus the Pensioners on Saturday.
Fabinho could also be a part of Klopp’s bench for this contest and might come on to provide some fresh legs in midfield later on.
Attack
Roberto Firmino is expected to spearhead the Liverpool attack at the Stadio San Paolo while Daniel Sturridge has to be content with a place on the bench following his heroics at Stamford Bridge.
Both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah are guaranteed starters and would look to use their pace and power to get behind the Napoli defence. Xherdan Shaqiri will be an option off the bench for Klopp to consider at Naples as well.
