Tottenham Hotspur took on Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium earlier today hoping to continue their recent good run in domestic competitions. Spurs began the match on the front foot and took the lead through Harry Kane’s header in the 25th minute. The English forward scored again in the 34th minute from the penalty spot to hand his team a comfortable two-goal lead at half-time.
Both teams battled hard in the second half but could not manage to add to the goal tally. The match ended 2-0 in favour of Mauricio Pochettino’s side as Spurs continue to progress up the Premier League table.

He made some outstanding saves during the game to help Spurs keep a clean sheet on the day.
CB: Toby Alderweireld – 7/10
The Belgian started the game off a bit slow but got better as the match went on. He also made some well-timed challenges during the game.
CB: Davinson Sánchez – 8/10
He made plenty of interceptions and was a commanding presence at the heart of the Tottenham defence. The Colombian kept calm under pressure to secure a clean sheet from the game.
CB: Jan Vertonghen – 5/10
The Belgian suffered an injury in the first half and was taken off at half-time as a precaution.
RM: Kieran Trippier – 7.5/10
The English full-back delivered a telling cross for Kane’s opener. He did his defensive duties well and put on a solid display down the right flank.
CM: Eric Dier – 6/10
His distribution from midfield left a lot to be desired. However, he acted as a makeshift centre-back in the second half and looked far more comfortable as part of the Tottenham backline.
CM: Mousa Dembélé – 6/10
The Belgian was calm under pressure and linked up well with his teammates in midfield. He was taken off at half-time to preserve some energy for the game against Barcelona.
LM: Danny Rose – 7/10
He made a few fantastic runs behind the Terriers defence and earned a penalty for Spurs in the first half. Overall, it was another excellent game for the Tottenham speedster down the left flank.
RS: Lucas Moura – 7/10
The Brazilian dribbler worked hard for Spurs but was unlucky not to score during the game.
LS: Heung-Min Son – 7/10
The South-Korean created some excellent chances for Tottenham in the first half. However, he didn’t have his shooting boots on as his attempts were not enough to trouble the Huddersfield keeper.
ST: Harry Kane – 9/10
He broke the deadlock with a magnificent header in the 25th minute. The English forward also stepped up to convert the spot-kick in the first half which gave Spurs a fantastic platform to secure all three points from this encounter.

CM: Harry Winks – 6/10
He came off the bench and worked tirelessly for his side at the centre of the park. He also played some neat passes but got cautioned in the final quarter of the game.
CM: Victor Wanyama – 6/10
He came on to add some solidity to the Tottenham midfield and did well to see out the victory.

He hardly had any time to make an impact in the game.
