Arsenal really do seem to believe it is finally their year. After years of frustration in the transfer window and the subsequent obvious injuries and the lack of suitable personnel to replace them causing a meltdown after January, the fans have seen enough this season for them to let their dormant desires regarding the Gunners to wake up again.
Arsène Wenger bowed down to pressure and relaxed his rigid stand about not spending big money even if it meant losing out on the desired target. But he seemed to have finally realised his folly and looking at the level of competition in the division, it was probably the most sensible thing that the old war horse could do.
Arsenal seem to be well stocked in player reserves and most of them are players who can step up and into the first team whenever required. Players like Mustafi and Granit Xhaka have slotted in seamlessly and have helped the team embark on a winning streak of 5 games.
Seeing off Chelsea as if it was just a regular day in the office, they have indeed made a huge statement of intent and are showing early signs of steel which eventually help in securing silverware.

DEFENCE
Petr Cech is the watchful guardian between the sticks and has time and again come to their rescue since joining the Gunners. Hector Bellerin is probably the best right-back in the country right now and is an asset to Arsenal. Laurent Koscielny and Mustafi have established a solid understanding and Arsenal are looking assured at the back. Nacho Monreal has also been impressive at left-back.
MIDFIELD
Santi Cazorla has been immense in the midfield and has spread play and dictated the pace of the game from his deep-lying position. He has been impressive beside both Coquelin and Xhaka but the amount of money spent on the Swiss international would suggest that Xhaka is the more obvious long-term choice in the pivot. Mesut Ozil has been largely relevant but still retains his tendency to drift in and out of games.
ATTACK
Alex Iwobi has broken into the first team and seems to be the first choice on the left-wing currently. He is liable to be replaced but can prolong his stay in the team with noteworthy performances. Theo Walcott’s recent resurgence has been welcomed by his manager and the English speedster is a good bet on the right flank. There has been a drastic change up top as Wenger, despite having Giroud and Perez at his disposal, has played Sanchez in a false 9 position.
