Wolverhampton Wanderers will host Leicester City at the Molineaux Stadium on Tuesday night looking to secure a passage through to the fourth round of the League Cup. The West Midlands outfit has impressed a lot of people with their attacking displays this season and would be expected to secure a positive result in front of their home supporters. However, they would face off against the Foxes who earned a comfortable 3-1 win versus Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
Nuno Espirito Santo will stick with his favourite 3-4-3 formation and might start with a lot of youngsters in his first-team. The League Cup will be an ideal opportunity to test the strength of the Wolves squad and Nuno Santo will look to make use of every single player at his disposal in order to rest players for the important Premier League clash against Southampton next weekend.
3-4-3 Wolves Predicted Lineup To Face Leicester City
Defence
John Ruddy could finally get an opportunity to start for Wolves after playing second-fiddle to Rui Patricio so far this season. Nuno Santo could start with a back three comprised of Romain Saiss, Kortney Hause and Leander Dendoncker who would be responsible for keeping things solid at the back for the home team on Tuesday night.
Wolves put on a resolute defensive display versus Manchester United at Old Trafford but with a completely new backline set to take charge in midweek, they could struggle to cope with the Leicester forwards.
Midfield
The youthful pair of Morgan Gibbs-White and Pedro Gonçalves are likely to start at the middle of the park with Matt Doherty resuming his duties as a wing-back on the right flank. Ruben Vinagre would look to use his quickness and agility on the left-hand side of Nuno Santo’s midfield.
The Wolves midfield will need to provide some added protection for their defenders while also create opportunities for their front players in the opposition half.
Attack
The youngster, Ryan Giles might get a start up top alongside Leo Bonatini and Adama Traore as part of the Wolves attack. Both Bonatini and Traore has often been used from the bench so this match would be their golden chance to shine and book a regular place in Nuno Santo’s first-team.
