Liverpool have been blessed with a plethora of attacking talents up top which could help the Merseyside club challenge for major trophies once again this season. We all know about the terrific front three of Liverpool which includes Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. However, with the arrival of Naby Keita at Anfield, the Kopites all around the world can now look up to another partnership that could break out soon during this season.
Mane + Keita – A Winning Combination For Liverpool?
Mane has already shown some glimpses of his telepathic understanding with Keita when linking up with each other down the left flank during the first two matches of the season. Even Andrew Robertson has thrived with the opportunity to attack the space created by Mane’s pace while Keita pulls strings from midfield.
Lessons Learnt From Recent Struggles: The Dawn Of A New Partnership?
However, Brighton and Hove Albion managed to neutralise Mane’s threat last weekend which also resulted in Keita having a mediocre game for Liverpool. Both players were substituted in the second half after failing to make an impact going forward. It is slowly becoming apparent that if one of them struggles, then the other tends to do the same which could be a significant cause for concern. However, the opposite is also true as Mane can definitely make Keita better and vice versa. Hence, their telepathic understanding down the left flank could be the key to unlocking the door to the Premier League title.
Mane’s Recent Revelation: Exciting Times Ahead
Mane has recently praised his new teammate and revealed that there is more to come from the Guinean international. In an interview with the club’s official website, the 26-year-old said, “I think he brings plenty in our team and I think it’s also not easy for the new players to come into the Premier League but for him, he’s unbelievable,”
“He’s started great and we are here to help him more to get to his best and I am sure he will do something special here.”
The Liverpool pair shares a special bond which Mane also addressed by adding, “I think I spoke to Naby every single weekend because I knew him before, we played together in Salzburg. [I was there for] two years and then I left and came to the Premier League and he went to Germany,”
“Still we kept in touch all the time and the first time he talked to me about Liverpool I said ‘welcome, this is a family, not a club – you will enjoy it’. He is always telling me he can’t believe how amazing Liverpool is.”
What Does It All Mean?
The fact that both Mane and Keita had a history in Austrian football before they were reunited at Anfield means that they know each other quite well by now. So, if they can replicate that kind of chemistry on the pitch, then it would give Liverpool an added dimension going forward while also helping improve players such as Andrew Robertson who can benefit from their partnership.
