According to Dominic King of the Daily Mail, as cited by the Anfieldedition.uk, Jurgen Klopp has had a great helping hand in the form of Liverpool‘s Sporting Director Michael Edwards in the pursuit of the players he has been wanting to mount a challenge in the Premier League and Europe in the last couple of seasons.
The Reds boss has looked to establish his team as a prime threat in the last two seasons and has successfully done that. Especially in the last term, when they reached the Champions League final, the Liverpool forwards looked unstoppable and the defence also performed decently.
This summer as well, Edwards has managed to bring in a number of new players into the side to equip Klopp with the best squad possible. The likes of Naby Keita, Fabinho, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson have already started to show their prowess for the Reds, making them a potential threat for current Premier League champions Manchester City to hold onto their crown.
Liverpool have already started off in the best way possible this season and have racked up two wins in their first two matches. They went onto decimate their opponents West Ham United and Crystal Palace by four goals and two goals respectively and their defence also performed exceedingly well to help Alisson keep back to back clean sheets in his first two matches of the campaign.

Reportedly, Edwards’ biggest transfer coup so far, however, has been the Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk who finally joined Liverpool last winter. After a lot of turmoil between the two clubs and the player looking to make his way out of Southampton, Edwards’ bargaining skills made it possible for Klopp to have his hands on his most wanted transfer target.
