Recent reports from Russian media suggest that Arsenal have asked Russian side FC Ufa to send their 18-year-old defender Igor Diveev on a trial to the North London club. The Gunners want him to come over to London on a temporary basis to assess his talents before they can offer him a professional contract at the club.
Diveev stands at 6ft3inches tall and is yet to make senior team appearance for the Russian side so this will come as a surprise to many that Arsenal are looking to sign the defender who is yet to establish himself at his current club. Though we know the Gunners are known to promote youth talent and over the years, quite a lot of young players have gone to establish themselves in the future.
A move like this will not make the headlines nor it will satisfy the fans as they are all interested to know what is happening in the first team. But it is always a good thing to keep your young pool of talent stocked.
Clubs can conduct a trial even outside the transfer window and the deal can also be finalised between the parties. However, the player will only be allowed to move once the transfer window is open. Ufa will most probably push him into the senior team this season and it will be a big challenge for the youngster to impress everyone.

The Gunners have struggled at the back of late and they will be looking to improve from the performances of last year. Even if Diveev manages to impress the coaches at the Emirates it will be a long shot for him before he can come through to the senior team as he will grind his time with the youth and reserve squads.
