According to the Express, former Manchester United legend and renowned football expert Rio Ferdinand has stated his opinion about the best transfer business that Chelsea have done this summer. As per him, the way the west London club have held onto their talisman Eden Hazard is really appreciable.
The Belgian superstar had been linked with the Spanish giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer market but the Blues made sure that he was going nowhere. Hazard himself admitted that he would be reconsidering his future after the World Cup but he is still a Chelsea player and looks unlikely to move out of the club this summer.
The 27-year-old came on as a second-half substitute in Chelsea’s match against Arsenal to a thunderous welcome at Stamford Bridge and started to show his skills from the word go. His composed play in the danger area coupled with his nimble footwork helped his side get over the Gunners. It was from his pass that Marcos Alonso scored the goal in the 81st minute to win it for the Blues.
Ferdinand was impressed with the quality of the high-tempo match played between the two teams and complimented it as a great advertisement for the Premier League. However, he looked sceptical about the defensive display of both Chelsea and Arsenal.
As per Ferdinand, Hazard’s performance was the key to Chelsea’s victory over Arsenal. He said, “The best piece of business this Chelsea manager has done this season in the transfer window was keeping that man (Hazard) at the club.
