According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool have been handed a major boost ahead of their Premier League encounter against Leicester City. The Reds will be facing the Foxes next month and are reportedly relieved to know that Jamie Vardy will not be available for the match.
The English striker was sent for an early shower in Leicester’s last match against Wolves for an ill-timed tackle on Matt Doherty. Referee Mike Dean did not think twice before flashing the red card, which is set to see Vardy sit out for the next three matches.
This comes as a huge blow for the Foxes ahead of their mega-clash with Liverpool in the next month as the 31-year-old had proved to be a nemesis for the Reds on multiple occasions. He has a brilliant goalscoring record against Jurgen Klopp’s men, as he went onto find the back of the net seven times on the last five occasions whenever the two teams have met.
Leicester City boss would be happy that his team made it back to winning ways after their opening day defeat at the hands of Manchester United but has also voiced his opinion about the red card. Speaking to the media, the French manager said, “I think it perhaps was a little tough, because it was not his intention to make a foul,” he added,
“He touched the ball. After, he was perhaps too enthusiastic, on his move, on his tackle. It’s a pity.
“I want to support him. He likes playing all the time, 90 minutes if he can.

“We now need to find a solution to replace him and it will be a good opportunity for some other player to show their quality.”
