According to Sky Sports News, Romelu Lukaku has been declared fit to start for Manchester United against Brighton and Hove Albion. United laboured to a 2-1 win against Leicester City in their first encounter and Jose Mourinho will be looking for a much compelling performance in the next game.
The Portuguese manager didn’t have any qualms in bringing Paul Pogba in the first game itself even though he was involved in the World Cup until the last stage. So one can expect Lukaku to start in the game against Brighton now that he has been declared fit.
The 25-year-old had a good first season at United after his big money move but still, there are areas where he can improve further. Mourinho will definitely be delighted to have his ‘big Belgian’ target man fit and running. Brighton under Chris Hughton will be a tough nut to crack as they will be expected to defend diligently and keep it tight at the back. Having a striker like Lukaku in the playing eleven can definitely make a huge difference for the Red Devils.
The Belgian will be high on confidence after a decent outing in the World Cup after his country achieved their all-time best finish. The 25-year-old has a terrific work ethic while he is on the pitch. He might not be technically blessed but, one can never doubt his work rate as the Belgian always puts in a decent shift.

Mourinho started with Marcus Rashford upfront in the last game and it will be interesting to see whether Lukaku will be slowly eased into the eleven or given a start straight away from the beginning after not being part of the preseason. Mourinho will be expecting a big season from his no. 9 as they try to stop Manchester City from defending their title.
