As per reports from Sky Sports, out-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to leave on loan to join Italian giants AC Milan. The 23-year-old has had a forgettable first season at Stamford Bridge and has fallen down the pecking order under Antonio Conte and now Maurizio Sarri.
The report says that the new Chelsea manager does not have Bakayoko in his plans for the new season and he has already brought in reinforcements in the form of Jorginho from Napoli and Mateo Kovacic from Real Madrid. This has left the Frenchman with no choice but to look forward to reviving his career with a loan move to the Italian club.
The 23-year-old was brought in from AS Monaco last summer for a staggering sum of £40m after a Ligue 1 winning campaign with the French giants. He showed his prowess on the European stage as well and helped his side to reach the semi-final of the Champions League, where they were beaten by Juventus. He attracted the attention of a number of clubs but Chelsea won the race to sign the lanky youngster and paired him with his compatriot N’golo Kante in the heart of the pitch.
Bakayoko went on to start 25 matches in the Premier League last term but was later on rejected by former manager Conte and was reduced to the bench. His future under Sarri doesn’t look any brighter and a loan move to the Serie A might see him get a fighting chance to revive his career in this term.
