According to yesteryear Premier League star and Liverpool legend Michael Owen, as cited by The Sport Review, Arsenal are not going to have a very successful campaign this season despite their heavy spending in the summer transfer window. The former Manchester United striker is of the opinion that the Gunners do not have a good enough side at their disposal and they are once again not going to make it into the top four spots.
The North London giants have brought in a number of new players into their side this summer and are looking to make a mark in the Premier League after the disappointment of the past two seasons. The Gunners failed to notch up a spot among the top four clubs in the country and missed out on a Champions League spot. However, under the tutelage of their new manager Unai Emery, they are eyeing resurrection in the top flight.
The Spaniard took over from the legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger after he left the club at the end of last season. The three-time Europa League winning manager will be starting his regime as the Gunners boss on Sunday as his side take on the defending champions Manchester City in their opening fixture.
However, Owen has made his thoughts clear about Arsenal’s success in the English top flight this season. He said, “Arsenal start life without Arsene Wenger and I feel Unai Emery will also need time as he tries to get the Gunners back into the Champions League.”

He added, “I’m not convinced they have the squad to make a top-four challenge, but they will pick up plenty of points at the Emirates although they must show they have the defensive capabilities to compete with the best on the road.”
