According to Football.London, there is still chance for Chelsea to make a move for the Lyon talisman Nabil Fekir and land him this summer ahead of Liverpool. The Reds have in continuous pursuit of the player but it seems that the Blues might get the deal done right before the closure of the transfer window this summer.
The 25-year-old had a massively successful campaign with the French national team and was enjoying his extended holiday. However, he has now returned to training, much to the relief of the Lyon hierarchy but as per the reports, there can be a twist in the tale as the influential midfielder might move out of the club.
Manager Bruno Genesio is of the opinion that the player is happy at the club now but he cannot rule out a move involving Fekir. In a recent interview, he said, “It’s too early to say [what will happen],” he added, “He wanted to leave at the end of last season but came back to training yesterday and was happy.”
“Who knows? There may be opportunities that come up before the end of the window. For now, he is a Lyon player.” Genesio added on, predicting that the future of the player at the club might be far from secure.

Chelsea have already invested a lot of money while bringing in Kepa Arrizabalaga, the fees being £71m, which is a world record for a goalkeeper and a club record transfer fee. So it might not be feasible for them to pursue the signature of the French star, which is sure to leave a hole in their pocket.
However, if the player insists on a move out of the club and Lyon also bring down their asking price for him, Fekir might see himself playing for the Blues next term.
