Chelsea seems to be one of the busiest team as the transfer window is coming to an end and they have been linked with a move for former Liverpool target Nabil Fekir. Lyon have given the green signal to the French midfielder to leave the club and Chelsea are in with a decent shot to land him. However, latest reports suggest that Liverpool are going to make a late swoop for him.
The Reds almost had their man before the 2018 World Cup and the deal for the 25-year-old Frenchman collapsed at the last moment. Liverpool were unhappy with Fekir’s injury history and wanted to renegotiate the deal with the French outfit. However, Lyon were not interested in any further dealings once the deal was accepted.
Reports suggest that Liverpool have been in talks with the player since the last month and maybe we can see some last day drama from the Merseyside club.
Chelsea meanwhile have a lot on their plater currently and they have slowly moved ahead in contention to sign the World Cup winner. Though if they manage to keep hold of their star players, then it is unlikely that they will go after 25-year-old. They are also strongly being linked with a loan move for Mateo Kovacic who can be termed as a similar player to Fekir.
Jurgen Klopp had earlier indicated that Liverpool are done with their transfer dealings after the signing of Alisson Becker. Though many are of the opinion that they still lack a creative midfielder in their side, after the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in January this year.

It’s being said that Fekir has his heart set at moving to Anfield but the Reds have been relatively silent in the last few weeks. However, one cannot count out a late strike from Liverpool to get their target which will set up a few exciting hours left in the transfer market.
