According to the Metro, Arsenal manager Unai Emery has told the club to make a “last-ditch” attempt to bring in Ousmane Dembele this summer. The Barcelona winger has been linked with the North London club for quite some time now and as per reports, an offer of £89m is set to be made by them to lure him to the Emirates stadium.
The 21-year-old won the World Cup recently with his national team France. He spent the last season mostly on the bench and on the hospital bed due to an injury and it seems that Barcelona might be looking to offload him for a good amount.
The French youngster was spotted a few days ago dining with some of the Arsenal players in London including Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, his former teammate from Borussia Dortmund, which made speculations even stronger that the player might be on his way to the Emirates. However, he has returned to training with Barcelona and is seemingly looking to fight for his spot in Ernesto Valverde’s squad.
The Blaugrana have already brought in a number of new players in this window including the Brazilian winger Malcom from Bordeaux, which has put Dembele’s future at the Catalan club in a spot of bother. This might be a good opportunity for the Gunners to make the bid to get the 21-year-old attacking star out of Camp Nou as they prepare a huge bid to land him.
