Arsenal are hoping to secure the services for AC Milan left-back Ricardo Rodríguez by making a late move for him this summer. According to the Daily Mail, the Gunners are hoping to seal a deal to bring the Swiss international to the Emirates Stadium during this summer transfer period.
It is believed that Arsenal boss Unai Emery is on the lookout for a new left-sided defender after Sead Kolasinac sustained an injury to his knee during the match against Chelsea which could potentially keep him sidelined for ten weeks.
Nacho Monreal has returned from the 2018 FIFA World Cup with a minor injury that has kept him out of action so far. The Spaniard is yet to take part in any of Arsenal’s pre-season matches so the North Londoners are in dire need of someone who can fill in at left-back.
With a home match against Manchester City coming up on Sunday, it would be wise of Emery to delve into the transfer market in search of a new left-back and Rodriguez fits the bill perfectly.
Some sources have recently claimed that Rodriguez is on the North London club’s radar but they need to cough up at least £30m to prise him away from the San Siro. The 25-year-old left-back is vastly experienced at the top level having featured in the top tier of Switzerland, Germany and now, Italy. He has also gained a lot of experience in the Champions League which makes him a perfect fit for the Gunners.
