Rangers are hoping to seal a move for NK Osijek full-back Borna Barišić this summer. The Gers are looking to secure the services of the Croatian defensive ace during this summer transfer period, and it seems like the transfer is all but confirmed with reports that the player is currently undergoing a medical at Rangers.
The Glaswegian giants recently dumped Osijek out of the UEFA Europa League, and now, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is ready to raid them by snapping up their star left-back. The 25-year-old is highly-rated and could be available for a fee in the region of £2m.
Barišić was narrowly cut out of the Croatian national squad which participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. The European nation made history by reaching the final of the competition where they were beaten 4-2 by France.
It is believed that Gerrard is on the lookout for a new left-back and has identified the Croatian as a worthy candidate to take up the duties in that position. If the deal goes through before the transfer window slams shut in a few days time, then he will be the second Croat to line up in Gerrard’s backline alongside Nikola Katić.
The Osijek academy product has already made five appearances so far this season, scoring one goal while grabbing three assists in all competitions. He has also earned three international caps for the Croatian national team.

The Teddy Bears were held to a 1-1 draw against Aberdeen on Sunday in a match full of drama. Alfredo Morelos was sent off early on, but the Gers came back to take the lead only to see it slip away in the dying embers of the contest. Gerrard will be looking for a better result when his team takes on Maribor in a Europa League third-round qualifier at the Ibrox Stadium on Thursday night.
