Arsenal have been linked with a move for 23-year-old Senegalese international Mbaye Niang. The striker currently plies his trade for Italian outfit Torino who he signed for earlier in the ongoing transfer window. Before that, he had spent a season-long loan with them where he impressed the club’s hierarchy as they made a permanent move for him.
The forward was part of Senegal squad in the World Cup which failed to qualify out of group stage only on fair play rules. He was influential for his country in the games he played and that has attracted an interest from the London club for him.
Torino’s sporting director Gianluca Petrachia admitted that he cannot rule a move out even though the forward joined in the current transfer window. He indicated that the club will be willing to sell if the price is right for the striker. He was quoted as saying,”He had a great World Cup and has his admirers. Then, we look at the player’s will to make an evaluation. He has just arrived, he trains and if he wants to test himself somewhere else, we cannot rule that out. But there must be requirements that satisfy Torino, given the expenditure we made a year ago.”
The striker even has an experience of playing in the English top flight as he was on loan with Watford in 2017 where he managed 2 goals for them. The 23-year-old had represented France at various youth level but later opted to play for the African nation Senegal at the senior level as he was more likely to get first-team opportunities with them.

Last campaign, he managed 4 goals in the Serie A and there is still a long way to go before he establishes himself. Arsenal can make a move for him but given the options they have currently, the pacy forward will find it tough to break into their lineup.
