Croatian defender Domagoj Vida who shot into the limelight because of his performance in the World Cup will prefer a move to Liverpool over other clubs. There were reports earlier that the player had an agreement with the Merseyside club, however, those rumours came to an unfruitful end.
The 29-year-old has joined the Turkish outfit late because of his exploits in the World Cup and now he will assess his future. Besiktas signed him on a free transfer in January and they can make a huge profit on him as they are currently valuing him at €30m.
A host of Premier League have been linked with him, however, Besiktas will have to find a deal soon as there is not much time left in the English transfer window. One of the reasons why Vida could be preferring a move to Anfield is because he can get a chance to partner with his Croatian team-mate Dejan Lovren at the back.
Liverpool will be looking to mount a serious challenge on all fronts in the upcoming season and their centre-back pairing of Virgil van Dijk and Dejan Lovren stood firm in the second half of the season. However, many are of the opinion that the club needs to add another defender in their repertoire especially after Joel Matip got injured during the preseason.
