According to reports in the Sun, Leeds United are set to beat various Championship clubs for the signature of Manchester City youngster Lukas Nmecha. The Whites are set to land him on a loan deal before the transfer window closes. Nmecha is a striker, so this will be another valuable on the attacking front after Patrick Bamford.
The relationship between Marcelo Bielsa and Pep Guardiola has tipped this move into United’s favour as Guardiola considers Bielsa as a considerable influence in his coaching style. The likes of Blackburn Rovers, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City were reportedly interested in bringing him on loan.
The 19-year-old forward has represented England at various youth level, and he scored 15 goals in 11 appearances in Premier League 2. The forward is likely to find it hard to get into the senior squad as the Citizens have plenty of world-class options at their disposal.
The forward is known for his pace and dribbling skills, and that is one of the reasons why he can turn out as a winger as well when required. The Whites will have a good young prospect at their hand and Bielsa could be the perfect mentor to bring the best out of the 19-year-old.

United have already acquired Jack Harrison from Manchester City, and the Whites faithful will be delighted that Bielsa can attract some of the best young talents to Elland Road. Nmecha though will have to fight for his place, and it remains to be seen what role the manager will give him if he makes a move to the West Yorkshire. The 19-year-old has been with the Citizens since 2007 and has made just three senior team appearances for them so a loan move will be a win-win situation for everyone involved.
