Celtic are starting yet another title defense tomorrow as they face Livingston in their first home game of the season. The Hoops have won the Scottish Premiership seven consecutive times, but Rangers under Gerrard, are expected to be a real force this time around. Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that the opening game of the league passes away without any drama. There is plenty of scope for drama though as former Rangers forward Kenny Miller might feature for Livingston and this could complicate a straightforward path to victory for Rodgers.
Injury Concerns and Team News
Celtic has both good and bad news on the injury front. While they will welcome back Leigh Griffiths to the squad, Moussa Dembele will miss out with a hamstring injury. Dedryck Boyata has returned to training following his World Cup campaign with Belgium. However, it is highly unlikely that Rodgers would include him in the matchday squad.
Predicted 4-2-3-1 Celtic Lineup Vs. Livingston
Defence
Craig Gordon is expected to start in goal ahead of new signing Scott Bain.
Kieran Tierney will be the left-back tomorrow despite the injury scare which has seen him being substituted against Rosenborg in the Champions League. We expect Mikael Lustig to start despite Gamboa’s recent good form.
Kristoffer Ajer and Jack Hendry would be the two central defenders on the team sheet.
Midfield
Olivier Ntcham and the captain Scott Brown are expected to feature in the middle of the park for Celtic.
Callum McGregor will play ahead of Ntcham and Brown and Celtic fans would be hoping that he would display better performance than his show against Rosenborg mid-week.
Attack
Moussa Dembele is out injured so the responsibility of leading the line would fall upon Odsonne Edouard. Scott Sinclair and James Forrest are expected to start in the flanks.
