According to famous football journalist Charles Watts, Arsenal can land Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele but only on a loan deal. The Gunners will definitely be delighted if something like that can happen in the last week of the transfer window. However, Watts also said that the deal is unlikely to happen.
Apart from Alex Iwobi, one cannot term anyone as an out and out winger in the Gunners squad and that is going to be an area of concern for the new manager Unai Emery. Dembele made his big-money move last season to Camp Nou, however, he suffered an injury before the start of the season and struggled to come back from that.
The Catalan giants have also gone on to sign Malcolm in the current transfer window so that could mean more competition for places for the Frenchman. However, it will be harsh from Barcelona if they let Dembele leave without giving him enough chances to prove himself.
Arsenal meanwhile, will be looking to bounce back to the Champions League as now they have missed out on qualifying for the Elite European competition for two years in a row. The Spanish manager will have his task cut out but one will expect a good performance from the Gunners after the team has gone under a managerial change. Signing someone like Dembele will definitely boost their chances.

The winger made just 17 appearances in the La Liga last season. He might have had few bad games initially but there were instances where he showed why the Blaugrana outfit paid in excess of €100m to acquire his services. The following season will be the real litmus test for the young Frenchman and he will be desperate to prove his worth at Camp Nou. At present, it looks like his future lies in Spain and Arsenal might have to look the other way if they want to bolster their wide options.
