According to The Mirror, Aston Villa star Jack Grealish is the latest to be linked with a move to Chelsea. The player has been on Tottenham Hotspur‘s radar for some time now and a move to White Hart Lane was looking to go through this summer. However, with Chelsea’s shock intrusion into the deal, they are now looking like the new favourites to land the Championship starlet.
Former Chelsea ace John Terry reportedly has requested the Blues to make a move for the 22-year-old player and it seems that the club has listened to his plea. However, Villa are still looking to keep hold of their prized possession but might have to give into Chelsea’s demands.
Tottenham Hotspur, on the other hand, have been looking like the most probable destination for the players since the start of the summer transfer window but now it seems that Spurs are going to miss out on their desired player. Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is looking to bring back the glory days at Stamford Bridge next season after their dismal show in both European and domestic competitions and Grealish can play a vital role in that if the deal is finally agreed.

However, time can be the biggest constraint for the Blues to complete the deal this summer as the transfer window is nearly on the verge of closing for this summer and it might be not enough for them to test Villa’s resolve to let the player leave. The player was instrumental in the last term to take his side to the Championship playoffs and securing his signature can be a big boost for the Blues for the next season.
