According to The Hard Tackle, Manchester United are looking to bring in Mateo Kovacic of Real Madrid this summer. The player is reportedly unhappy at the Santiago Bernabeu and as per the Spanish outlet Marca, the Red Devils have submitted a €60 million offer for the Croatian to get him to Old Trafford.
The player has been used sporadically since his arrival at the club and that might be the prime cause for the player to find an escape route this summer. On the other hand, Manchester United’s transfer window has looked absolutely lacklustre so far, especially in recent weeks, as they have not been able to get their hands on their preferred. The Red Devils have only secured the signatures of Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and Diogo Dalot from Porto and are now in the hunt to make more additions to their squad.
Kovacic has been looking to make a move out of the club since the last season in search of regular first-team action. Despite winning a number of accolades with Real in the last few years including three Champions League trophies on a trot, Kovacic seems to be more interested in seeing his name in the first eleven, something which Madrid have not been able to guarantee the player of.
Despite his high value in the market, the Croatian midfield maestro is completely worth his price tag and can bring in the much-needed stability into the Manchester United lineup which they have been lacking in the last couple of seasons. Neither Paul Pogba nor Nemanja Matic has been able to help the Red Devils out of this misery and the inclusion of a player like Kovacic is probably the need of the hour for Jose Mourinho’s men.
