According to Record Sport, Kyle Lafferty’s agents are set to open talks for a deal to be brokered with Hearts to make way for the striker to return to his former club Rangers. The Northern Ireland international’s agents are set to meet the club manager and the owner to help their client seal a move to the Ibrox, after their initial bid of £200,000 was rejected.
The report also states that the Ibrox chiefs are expected to put forward an improved bid of £300,000 and both clubs will make an attempt to meet at a feasible point for the transfer saga to end and for the player to make a move back to his boyhood club.
It is understood that the 30-year-old is ready to re-sign for the Light Blues and the Hearts are also readying themselves for the expected departure in the near future.

The Gers, however, might face competition from the Azerbaijani club Qarabag, who have been reportedly alerted by the transfer situation and there is a possibility of them making a move for the player this summer as well. However, it is believed that the player himself is willing to move back to his old club and that might be the biggest boost for Steven Gerrard, who has taken the reins of the club to steer it to success next season.
