Liverpool are confident about their chances of making Sadio Mane commit his long-term future to the club. According to the Mirror, the Reds are optimistic about tying the Senegalese wide man down to an improved long-term contract in the next few weeks.
The Merseyside club has already been successful in securing the futures of both Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino after they penned fresh deals with the club recently and it is now looking likely that Mane will do the same.
The 26-year-old’s current deal at Anfield runs out in the summer of 2021 after he signed a five-year contract upon his arrival at Merseyside from Southampton in a deal worth in the region of £30m back in July 2016.
Mane has been in scintillating form and put in a number of match-winning displays during the course of last season which could see him get rewarded with an improved offer. Jurgen Klopp’s Reds believe in the progress that the Senegalese international is currently making as he strives to be one of the world’s best in the coming years.
It has also been revealed that both Salah and Firmino have penned new deals at Anfield which will keep them at the club until 2023, with Mane expected to be offered a new contract of the same length.
The terrific front three of Liverpool has become one of Europe’s most fearsome trios and so it seems like the Merseyside club does not miss the presence of Philippe Coutinho, who left in favour of a move to Barcelona for £142m in January, at this point in time.
