Manchester United are willing to let Anthony Martial leave in the summer, though they want to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic before they sell the Frenchman. United value Martial at around £70m and until and unless they get his replacement first, they are unlikely to sell him.
Perisic has been linked with the Red Devils since the last summer window, however, nothing materialised that time. Jose Mourinho will be looking to mount a better challenge in the upcoming season as they finished 19 points short of their derby rivals Manchester City who won the Premier League title with relative ease.
Mourinho’s tactics were panned by critics and fans alike and if he goes another season trophyless, one could see the end of Mourinho at Old Trafford. Martial has struggled to flourish under the Portuguese manager. Last season, the Frenchman was usually confined to the bench. Many believed that the player missed out on a World Cup berth as he didn’t get enough opportunities at the club level to be picked up for France.
He made 45 appearances in all competitions but most of them were from the bench, however, he looked threatening whenever he came on as he managed a decent tally of 11 goals and 9 assists in all competitions.
On the other hand, Perisic had a terrific run in the World Cup for his side and his stock has certainly skyrocketed after Croatia reached the finals of the World Cup for the first time. The 29-year-old was like a machine as he was full of running and energy throughout the tournament. He scored some crucial goals which created history for his country and Inter Milan can definitely make a huge profit if they decide to sell him in the summer.
One factor that might cause a bit of a worry is that the winger is already 29 and he won’t be a long-term answer for United. However, time is not on Mourinho’s side as he needs to deliver something substantial quickly so one shouldn’t be surprised if the Manchester outfit decides to pay big money to land the World Cup finalist.

At Inter Milan, Perisic managed a tally of 11 goals and 11 assists last season. He is often lively and his work rate is impressive which will definitely be a big plus for Mourinho. He doesn’t mind tracking back and doing his defensive duties so one can say he is the perfect player for Mourinho and one shouldn’t be surprised if the manager decides to bring him in to replace Martial.
