According to reports in the Dutch media, Ajax are willing to sell Brazilian starlet David Neres for €50m this summer. Liverpool have shown an interest in the winger recently and it remains to be seen whether the Reds will pursue the young talent in the coming few weeks.
The 21-year-old joined Ajax last year in the January transfer window. He started his career with Brazilian side Sao Paulo before moving to Europe to continue his footballing career. The winger has represented Brazil at the u20 level and will soon be looking to make way to the senior squad.
However, he has a long way to go before he can achieve that, but the signs shown by the player are certainly promising. Last season, Neres was one of the standout players in the Eredivisie as he managed a tally of 14 goals and 13 assists in 32 games in the league last season. No wonder Ajax value him so highly.
Like all Brazilian, he has a flair to his game and at just 21, looks close to a ready-made star. He has good pace and dribbling skills and is adept at beating defenders. What sets him apart is his eye for goal as the Brazilian shows immense strength when on the ball which makes it difficult for defenders to shrug him off it.
Another good season in the Netherlands might propel his market price further so maybe this is the best time to snap him up. However, it looks unlikely that Liverpool will go after him as their manager Jurgen Klopp gave an indication that the Reds are done with their summer business. They already had bought a winger in Xherdan Shaqiri and one doesn’t see Klopp going after Neres.
However, this might come back to bite them because just at 21, he is showing immense potential. Bringing him to the Premier League will certainly test him but given the quality, the Brazilian has shown, he can be a star in the near future. So, while an investment for the future, we think Klopp should definitely try to get this done.

From the player’s point of view, he would like to move to a club where he will be given a good amount of opportunities which the Brazilian will find hard to get at Anfield, given the attacking prowess the Reds have so it seems unlikely that he will make the switch to the Merseyside this summer.
