Manchester City defender Jason Denayer has dropped a huge hint that he could put an end to his career at the club, following a social media post on Instagram. In the past, the Belgian star has repeatedly revealed his frustration of not being allowed to seal a permanent move away from the Etihad and according to Goal.com, he is now keen on moving to Galatasaray this summer.
Denayer had initially joined Man City back in 2013 as a youth player but was quickly promoted to the senior side. However, due to the presence of some of the most talented defenders in European football, the Belgian failed to make a breakthrough into the starting lineup. In fact, he is yet to make a single competitive appearance for the Premier League giants.
As a result, he was farmed out to several different clubs across Europe on temporary loan deals. Denayer spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, which was his second spell at the club. He had earlier joined the Turkish outfit back in 2015. The Belgian made a total of 50 appearances during his time with the Aslanlar, 22 of which came in the last season, as he helped his club lift the Turkish Superlig title.
As it appears, the 23-year-old is quite happy with his life at Istanbul and is apparently eager to join the Lions on a permanent basis this summer. A move that probably makes sense for all parties involved.
Manchester City, in particular, have already spent huge bucks in their defensive department since the arrival of Pep Guardiola. The Citizens boast the likes of John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi, and Aymeric Laporte in their defensive unit. And even though veteran defender Vincent Kompany has entered the final phase of his career, it’s very unlikely that Denayer will be of any use to Guardiola in nigh future.
This is mainly due to the fact that the Belgian lacks ball-playing qualities and thus, could find it very difficult to get used to Pep Guardiola’s possession-based football. Furthermore, the reigning Premier League champions will be wanting to make some room in the defensive department as they attempt to sign a long-term replacement for Kompany.

Galatasaray, on the other hand, will be hugely boosted by the permanent addition of Jason Denayer. His physical prowess coupled with his work ethic and versatility makes him a tailor-made fit for Fatih Terim’s men as they aim to retain their dominance in the Turkish top flight.
