Brendan Rodgers has not made too many moves in the transfer market this year but Celtic need to make some additions to their squad this summer, as they look to take the next step in Europe. Their local rivals are also strengthening their squad and Rodgers has to make sure that he has all the tools required to compete with the best next season.
While they have been linked with a number of star players recently, the Celts are also in danger of losing a few of their stars this summer and one such player now wanted by West Ham United in the Premier League is midfielder Olivier Ntcham.
The 22-year old joined the club just last summer and made 48 appearances in a treble-winning campaign for Rodgers, playing alongside Scott Brown in the midfield. It looks like Manuel Pellegrini is impressed with him and reports suggest that the Hammers have enquired about his price.
He is a real asset for Celtic who will have to replaced if sold, but who can they target? Here are three replacements for Ntcham if West Ham manage to lure him to England:
James McArthur (Crystal Palace):
The boyhood Rangers fan had a decent campaign in the Premier League with Palace but has been linked with a move to Celtic earlier this summer. At 30, he is an experienced footballer, who can make a real impact on the Premiership and will be a readymade replacement for Ntcham in the midfield for Celtic. He has just two years left on his contract and could be a decent addition to the squad at Celtic Park.
James Morrison:
A transfer target for Rodgers in January, Morrison had made just four league appearances last season and has been allowed leave the club as a free agent this summer. He continues to be linked with a move to Glasgow and is currently available for free so he could be a low-risk asset for Celtic. At 32, he is also an experienced option, who can deliver immediate results for the Celts.

John McGinn (Hibernian):
The 23-year old Scottish midfielder remains the top transfer target for Celtic this summer, but they have failed to land him with three different bids already, as Hibernian remain persistent in their requirements. They want Celtic to pay up to £4m for McGinn and if Rodgers loses Ntcham, there is no doubt that he will go all in for the exciting Hibs man.
