As per latest reports, West Bromwich Albion are keen to sign Josh Windass during this summer transfer window. The club looks to strengthen their squad before the commencement of the EFL Championship and hope that the arrival of Windass will help boost their chances of climbing out of the Championship and into the realms of the Premier League.
The Baggies were under par in their performances last season as they slumped to a 20th place finish in the league standings. They were dismal in their performances in the domestic cup competitions as they were knocked out in the 5th round of the FA Cup at the hands of Premier League rivals Southampton and were sent packing in the EFL Cup in the 3rd round by eventual Premier League winners Manchester City.
West Brom scored just 31 goals in 38 games as they struggled to find a winning formula. They lost 19 games and were relegated to the Championship come the closing stages of the forgone Premier League season. They will rely on Windass to help bring creativity into their midfield as they look to find a player who can score goals and create chances for the team from the middle of the pitch.
Manager Darren Moore has a battle on his hands as the club failed to hold onto a number of their players following the embarrassment of relegation. Moore now has an arduous task on hand if he is to assemble a team capable of challenging for a spot in the Championship play-offs.
At 24 years of age, Windass has time to improve further as a player if he wants to reach greater heights in his professional career. His main strengths on the field lie in his ability to perform the duties of an attacking midfielder. He is versatile and can also be used as a second striker or in the position of a left midfielder.
Windass has gone on to accumulate 70 appearances for the Scottish big boys Rangers FC. He has found the target 19 times and has assisted his team-mates to notch up 13 goals more. However, as per Daily Mail Live Transfer News, with Steven Gerrard at the helm of Rangers, Windass might look for a move back to England.

West Brom have completed the signings of Sam Johnstone, Jonathan Bond and Kyle Bartley this summer. They have also brought in Harvey Barnes on loan from Leicester City but manager Moore is keen to increase his attacking options. The Baggies must recuperate quickly or risk the possibility of losing the 24-year-old English attacker this summer.
